Knutsford were drawn in Pool 4 and faced Caldy, Crewe and Nantwich and Wilmslow B. The team had not played together for a few weeks and it showed in the first couple of games against Caldy and Crewe & Nantwich. Knutsford won the final game against Wilmslow B by 5 tries to 1 and thus progressed to the quarter finals of the Cheshire Shield.
The boys then faced Stockport and beat them by 5 tries to 1 as well. The confidence of all players increased as the number of games progressed. On to the semi final where they then faced a strong Helsby side. Knutsford were victorious by 5 tries to 0.
Northwich were the opposition in the final. At first the boys seemed a little overawed and Northwich scored the first try. However, 5 unanswered tries from Knutsford saw the boys win the final by 5 tries to 1.
All the boys played in every match, it was a real team effort from the boys and with fantastic support from their parents they walked away as happy winners.
