We are offering introductory rates for all local advertisers wishing to feature on The Knutsford Times. There are many locations ranging from micro banners and embedded text links through to skyscrapers  and full width header and footer banners.

As with all digital media, Knutsford Times has a series of options for banner broadcast. Impression based, Click based and Time limited duration. Because Digital Advertising will be new to local companies we expect to most will view the medium with some trepidation. We have written a simple guide as to the proven methods we employ when engaging our readers with digital marketing. The flexibility of digital advertising comes into its own as you can modify the locations and the actual banner during the run time.

Impression based banners are given a credit of XXX number of times the banner can be viewed across the publication. You can control the budget of your adverts by limiting the locations that the banner is shown and change the campaign as you go for a fixed cost. Once the impression credit has run out you will need to pay for an additional block of impressions.

Click campaigns offer tighter budget control at a slightly elevated cost. Dependent on which locations and volume of locations we calculate the cost of each click based on an estimate of traffic to the site. Per click marketing has a double edge of exposure, once "per click" it offers both facets of online advertising, impression and click. Remember the more locations the more the clicks you are likely to get so we can offer fixed clicks campaign or unlimited clicks.

Time limited / unlimited banners give all advertisers unhindered exposure to readers so long as locations are well selected. This type of campaign is run at a fixed price or as a retained fee. Once the locations have been chosen, the banners will run for the specified duration. The best way to maximise a time limited / unlimited campaign is to ensure choose a dedicated option on the banner which ensures that it will always appear at that location on the site. This is a form of short term rental allowing the campaign asset (the banner graphic) to be changed at any time during its duration.


Dedicated and Rotational

Dedicated banners:
The secret to accurate banner marketing is to target categories specifically with longevity exposure being the drivers in success. Selecting a dedicated location will exclude any other banners being viewed in that location. This greatly enhances visibility and can be selected as an option during banner inclusion.

Rotational Banners:
This option is employed as standard accross the Knutsford Times pages and categories. Rotation banners are set as a random sequence inside any shared banner location.


Banner types and placement
:

Front page advertising:
Naturally, marketing directly on the home page will attract a premium and availability of space will be limited to prevent over crowding.

Masthead banner:
Fully exposing your company or brand  to the readership can be gained by taking the masthead banner position. This banner is carried over across the entire site, across all categories and articles.

Footer banner:
The site footer can support either a full width banner, an extra wide banner or a standard leader board.

Category locations:
Each individual category supports alternate and directly targeted campaign designed to increase click-thru rates with more appropriately focused audience.

Category articles:
All articles are featured under a specific category and we can load banners into the articles directly. This offers unique targeting ensuring accurate interest in your product, company or brand.

Mini skyscrapers:
These are located on the left hand side of the site and offer good coverage for all advertisers employing this location. We have a standard height and a fixed width, however the left hand side locations can also allow tall skyscrapers located slightly lower on the column allowing the clear board cast of site content

Wide Skyscrapers:
The right hand side of the Knutsford Times will support wide skyscrapers and these are proven to be more successful with media based content such as flash. Normally we allow the placement of banners after the content boxes but we are flexible dependent on durations and agreed fees for doing so.

Micro banners:
Are located on either the left or right hand side of the site. There are size variants for this banner type Micro-thin Micro-tall and Micro-Square and are simple yet functional banners that set the idea standard for site advertising. As with all banners this can be set as a dedicated location or randomly rotated.

Additional targeting


Sponsored pages:
If you are promoting a business, event or product, the Knutsford Times can allow the deployment of single page features. Inside these pages advertisers can utilise images, flash animations and other visual promotional tools. HTML can be employed directly but the use of certain scripting languages is restricted. Sponsored links:
For rapid deployment we can allow the direct linking of a category from the menu bars into a specific site or page inside a site. Please contact us directly for a monthly rate on sponsored links

Dedicated Category / sub-category:
The Knutsford Times can enable a completely branded category or subcategory this includes custom backgrounds, custom headers and banners suited to the corporate message. Please contact us for an example and costs.

Embedded keyword links and SEO:
We can offer the opportunity to cross link directly from any keyword inside a body of text on any article. A low, one off charge will be made for multiple links inside single article. Each article with paid links will also undergo SEO treatment prior to submission to help build greater traffic to your site, brand or products.

Art working & Creative content:

We can provide full and free art working. If you are looking for a an art directed piece we can recommend dedicated art working agencies that provide a more professional approach to creative banner production. We will create simple banners for free and develop vouchers if choosen with online small setup fees for adding creative content to the system.

Cost planning:

We charge an initial setup fee per banner (dependent on duration), the costs vary as to where the banners are located and what level of modification to The Knutsford Times is required. As with all campaigns all fees are paid in advance but cost planning and budgeting is agreed fully before any campaign launch.
