KHC Annual Dinner & Awards Presentation

Knutsford HC’s Captains were able to say thanks for individual contributions on Saturday with the following players being recognised for their achievements on the pitch this season.

Ladies 1st XI – Kat Heine
Ladies 2nd XI – Vicky Royale

Ladies Most Improved Player of the Year – Ellie Booth

Mens 1st XI – Simon Locke
Mens 2nd XI – Michael Anderson
Mens 3rd XI – Andrew Crabtree

The Players also got to vote for their own Players of the Year
Ladies 1st XI – Kat Heine
Ladies 2nd XI – Helen Coultas
Mens 1st XI – Dave Price
Mens 2nd XI – Ed Higgs       
Mens 3rd XI – Andrew Crabtree

The leading goalscorer of the year – Sarah Locke – was also acknowledged, beating her team mates Katie Allan & Olivia Scott by just the narrowest of margins.

In what has now become an entertaining tradition, the Club also awarded a ‘Club Fool’ of the season with four nominees available for voting – Steve Hope, Ed Higgs, Caz Orchard and the Three Amigos – Andrew Crabtree, Steve Lawrence and Elliot Woodage.  As voted for by the Club Ed Higgs was awarded the prize for ‘assisting a member of the opposition with cramp when in fact he’d pulled his hamstring!!’

Alison Marsham was also Manager of the Year by winning the Club’s Fantasy Hockey competition, with Gav Merrill and Heather Paton coming 2nd and 3rd respectively.  Ali was rewarded with a cheque for £100 – drinks on her!

The Mens 1st XI squad were also given individual medals recognising their victory in the Cheshire Plate and the Ladies 1st XI squad were also given medals to celebrate them winning the Division 3 Championship.

Finally, Nick Pedlow, Paul Armstrong, Steve Lawrence, Susie Hough, Howard Taylor, Tim Anderson and Janice Tasho were acknowledged for all their efforts throughout the season.
Following the presentation of the awards a great night was had by all on the dancefloor!
