Cheshire East launches consultants framework

By on December 22, 2017

Cheshire East has issued a contract notice which highlights its intention to create a consultants framework worth up to £3.8m to support activity in the construction industry.

The framework is to deliver construction-related professional services to all internal departments and any organisation that Cheshire East Council is associated with, including its wholly owned companies, schools, academies and parish or town councils.

There are eight lots available – including architectural services, engineering, quantity surveying, structural engineering design/consultancy, building surveying, client advice and environmental –  with companies free to bid for more than one lot. The framework will last for four years, with an option to extend by a year. The council said that the lots might be suitable for SMEs to bid for, but that no weight would be attached to whether or not a bidder is an SME.

The overall objective of the framework is to support the council to deliver their revenue and capital programmes by providing professional expertise and cost certainty, standardising and streamlining processes with continuous feedback and performance improvements and realising efficiencies through knowledge-sharing and monitoring and managing performance in cost and quality terms.

Tenders are invited until 26 January 2018.
