Cheshire Wildlife Trust will be hosting its first Big Wild Weekend

By on June 13, 2018

Cheshire residents are being encouraged to take part in Cheshire Wildlife Trust’s Big Wild Weekend, which runs on the weekend of 16th and 17th June.

The weekend is part of The Wildlife Trust’s 30 Days Wild campaign, which runs throughout June, with events being run up and down the country.

On Saturday 16th June, Cheshire Wildlife Trust will be hosting a special celebration of wildlife on its Twitter account (@CheshireWT) from 12pm to 1pm – just look out for the hashtag #CheshireWildlifeHour and share your special Cheshire wildlife moments.

On Sunday 17th June, from 11am until 3pm, the Trust is hosting a day of wild activities at Marbury Country Park in Northwich. This fun event will bring together a choice of free activities for all to enjoy including willow weaving, creating wild art, pond dipping, spotting wildlife and a guided walk of the Trust’s Marbury Reedbed Nature Reserve.

“We can’t wait to see what people’s favourite places for wildlife are during our dedicated Twitter hour,” said Jo Darlington, Director of Fundraising & Communications at Cheshire Wildlife Trust. “We have so many exciting activities lined up at Marbury for people to enjoy on the Sunday too – it’s going to be a great weekend to ‘get wild’.”

30 Days Wild encourages people to notice nature on their doorsteps every single day and gives them a multitude of exciting and fun ways of doing it. Research shows taking part in 30 Days Wild improves health and happiness and encourages people to do something to help wildlife.
