Pankhurst Party taking place to honour Suffragettes

By on June 23, 2018

Joely Garland is inviting people to come and help Tatton celebrate 100 years of the first women to have the vote and honour the birthday of Emmeline Pankhurst and the work she did to ensure that women received a vote.

The celebrations are being organised throughout the country as part of #Askhertostand.

There will be inspirational talks from women such as Esther McVey and other local female Councillors.

The event is taking place on Saturday 14th July at 2pm at Knutsford Town Council offices on Toft Road. To RSVP or find out more about the event contact Joely Garland on 01565 632181 or by email to

The event is fully inclusive with men and women both being welcomed to the event. Attendees are invited to bring their own cakes.

The campaign also aims to encourage people to lay a wreath, present to their Council Leader or hold their own part to commemorate Mrs Pankhurst.
