Police in Macclesfield appeal for information after street robbery

By on September 18, 2018

Police are appealing for witnesses following a street robbery in Macclesfield.

At approximately 4.15am on Saturday 15 September a 22-year-old man was walking along Nicholson Avenue onto Garden Street. As he walked past the gas works a man jumped from behind a wall and threatened the victim with a knife.

The suspect then fled on foot with the victim’s wallet. He was last seen heading toward Middlewood Way.

DC Gareth Nixon Said: “Thankfully the victim was unharmed, but he was left shaken by his ordeal. The attacker stole a black wallet which has JP on the front with a silver shield. The wallet contained cash and a sentimental passport photograph of the victim’s late mother. I would urge anyone who has seen the wallet, or who has any information to contact police.”

The suspect is described as white, 6ft 3ins to 6ft 4ins tall and of stocky build. He was wearing dark clothing, possibly a Nike tracksuit, with the hood over his face. He also had a Liverpool accent.

Anyone with information should contact Cheshire Police on 101 or via https://www.cheshire.police.uk/contact/general-enquiries/ quoting IML 184765.

Alternatively information can be given anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
