Appeal after motorcyclist dies following rush hour collision in Macclesfield
Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a fatal collision in Macclesfield.
The collision, which involved a HGV and a motorcycle, occurred on the A536 Congleton Road at the Flower Pot crossroads at approximately 7.40am today, Thursday 25 October.
Sadly the motorcyclist, a 30-year-old local man, passed away at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and they are being supported by specialist officers.
The driver of the HGV was uninjured.
Police Constable Andy Evison said: “Enquiries in relation to this incident are ongoing and I’m keen to hear from anyone who believes they may be able to help with our investigation.
“The Flower Pot crossroads is a busy junction and I believe there may have been a number of motorists and pedestrians in the area at the time of the collision who may be able to assist.
“I’m particularly keen to hear from anyone who believes they have any dashcam footage of the incident.”

A 39-year-old-man from St Albans, Hertfordshire, has been arrested as part of the investigation. He is currently in police custody assisting officers with their enquiries.
