Deputy town clerk Sarah Morgan said: “Several changes followed the withdrawal of the 300 route, including the introduction of a new circular service to Lilac Avenue and an 88a service which ran through Longridge. Both of these services were withdrawn by D and G after only a few months in operation as they were not considered to be commercially viable.”

People have been able to give their feedback and express concerns at events held in the town previously.

She added: “Residents reported that they were experiencing challenges in reaching essential services. Access to the bus services had also deteriorated following the diversion of the 88-service meaning that passengers were required to access and alight services via grass verges. The town council would now like to build on the existing responses from residents to support a formal approach to Cheshire East Council, requesting that the services are reviewed in light of the feedback.”
