Knutsford businesses raise money for children’s charity

By on November 23, 2018

Businesses across Knutsford joined together to support a fundraiser for Destination Florida Children’s Charity.

The lunch event was hosted by Piccolino in Knutsford with businesses including Gusto, Lost and Found, The Courthouse, Cotton’s Hotel and Spa, Wine and Wallop, April’s, The Lambing Shed, Mere Golf Club and Spa, The White Orchard and The Fox and Hounds donating raffle prizes.

Destination Florida works with children who have life-threatening and life-limiting medical conditions, and their parents or guardians. The charity organises trips to Florida for 72 children in the north of England, who all have the chance to visit theme parks, spend time in the pool, go shopping and generally just have fun.

“Mike Hymanson, the chairman of Destination Florida, spoke about the charity wonderfully,” said lunch organiser Janna Whitworth. He had got back only the day before from the 2018 trip to Florida, and said how the children had the most amazing time and the parents were so grateful for the life-changing trip. There was a Fair Trade pop-up boutique called It’s Good Ethical Boutique selling wonderful gifts, and children’s games were played like heads and tails and how many sweets in a jar, to win great prizes.”
