Knutsford gets ready for Bunny Hop!

By on April 16, 2019

Knutsford town centre is ready to host its annual Bunny Hop to celebrate Easter and all things chocolate on Saturday 20th April.

As per previous years the event will see families scouring across Knutsford to find 9 bunnies which will be hidden in amongst the town centre streets.  Each family will have a postcard and when they find the bunnies, they write the bunny’s letter and the name of the shop it was found near, before re-arranging the letters to find a phrase associated with Easter.  When finished they can post it into the Heritage Centre’s post box. Postcards have been delivered to all local schools, pre-schools and nurseries and some will be available on the day from participating shops, restaurants and cafes.

The event has become a firm fixture on Knutsford’s event calendar growing in popularity each year and is coordinated by Knutsford Town Council with sponsorship from Bella Marketing and Design, Mere Day Nursery, Little Waitrose and Mr Simms.  Many of the town centre’s shops and businesses join in the fun including Knutsford Market Hall, Barnardo’s, Oxfam, Clarity Contemporary Jewellery and Roberta Beauty Re-Defined to name but a few. Chocolates, books and balloons are some of the treats expected to be handed out!

Becki Gilhooley of Mere Day Nursery, said, “This is the first time we have got involved with a community event and we can’t wait!  It will be lovely to see families, many of whom have children at our nursery, in their own environment and we are planning to have a little pop-up opposite Mr Simms with cupcakes and balloons”.

Hannah Dale, Partner at Little Waitrose, said, “We were sponsors last year and really enjoyed the day.  All the partners at the shop are looking forward to joining in the bunny-themed fun with crafts and treats for the little ones”.

All entries are entered a prize draw and the prizes on offer so far include an Easter Hamper from Mr Simms, some toys from Hal Whittaker, a voucher from Giovanni’s, Easter Eggs from Chafe Hague Lambert Solicitors, a voucher for children’s clothes from Lou Lou Bella Boutique and children’s book Leo’s Ladder.

The event runs from 10am to 4pm and includes all the main streets in Knutsford town centre – King Street, Princess Street, Regent Street and Minshull Street.  There are no road closures, so parents are urged to supervise children at all times.
