Knutsford firm to take on 60 new staff

By on April 19, 2019

A Cheshire-based medical communications group is planning to take on 60 new staff after landing a seven figure funding package.

Prime Global, which has its head office in Knutsford, is a group of six medical communications agencies and specialist consultancies.

The group provides the world’s leading biotech, pharma and healthcare businesses, with professional communications services.

With HSBC UK’s financial backing, Prime Global expects to create 60 new jobs, ranging from graduates to directors, split across its Cheshire HQ and London office.

The expansion will allow the business to meet demand from its current client base, as well as providing capacity for growth in new markets.

As a result the group expects to increase turnover by 40 per cent in the next 12 months.

Graeme Peterson, chief executive and chairman of Prime Global, said: “We’ve enjoyed strong growth over recent years but now have an opportunity to accelerate this with strategic investments which will dramatically scale-up our offering to new and existing clients while also creating jobs.

“With the support and guidance of HSBC UK we are now ideally positioned to make this ambition reality.”

Zubayr Atcha, corporate relationship director for HSBC UK, Greater Manchester, added: “Prime Group is an excellent example of a dynamic export business that we’re proud to support.

“In the communications sector, it’s investment into staff that ultimately underpins the success of a business.

“So it’s a pleasure to support Prime Global as it expands and we look forward to seeing Graeme’s team continue to grow.”

Prime Group was established in 1997 and has since grown to include offices in Knutsford, Macclesfield, London, New York and San Francisco.

In 2018 the Group saw turnover of £19.3m, with 70 per cent of sales being exported to customers around the world, particularly in North America.

In February 2019, Prime Global became the first business to top the consultant category of the Pharma Fast 50 report, a list of the fastest growing companies in the pharmaceutical sector.
