Tom Kerridge’s Pub in the Park festival reveals Knutsford Chef’s Mouth Watering Menus

After the huge success of last year’s Pub in the Park festival, Tom Kerridge returns to Knutsford’s Lambing Shed in June as part of the eight-date tour. From Friday 7th to Sunday 9th there will be live demonstrations from creative and highly skilled chefs, supporting local talent as well as well-known chefs. Knutsford’s final six-chef line up and their mouth-watering menus has now been revealed and promising a gastronomic feast.

Firstly, Andrew Pern from Michelin-starred The Starr In at Harome will be demonstrating his flair that has gained him recognition on shows such as The Hairy Biker’s and the BBC’s Great British Menu.  He will be preparing;  Harome Picked Wild Garlic Risotto, Yorkshire Curd, Cracked Hazelnuts, Smoked Potato Puffs & Hedgerow Pesto; Curried Kedgeree Broth of North Sea Smoked Haddock, Spiced Raisins, Cucumber Raita and a Dark Chocolate ‘Pot’ with Yorkshire Rhubarb & Stem Ginger dessert.

Knutsford will also host Andrew Greenhouse, head-chef at The Cholmondeley Arms, one of Cheshire’s gastro pubs serving uniquely British cuisine located in Malpas.  Andrew’s menu features; Cholmondeley Best Beer Fried Chicken with citrus remoulade, Earl Grey Infused Chick Pea and Wilted Spinach Curry with homemade Dosa and Slow Braised Cheshire Rabbit, wild garlic and red wine risotto.

Richard Williams, head chef at Mobberley’s The Church Inn, will be serving The Lambing Shed Lamb Croquettes, minted pea puree and a yoghurt dressing, Crispy Chicken Wings, lemon, lime and chilli caramel sauce and a Seafood Pot, poached salmon, prawn and crayfish in white wine and spinach, with Bourne’s Smoked Cheshire Cheese gratin.

Casting further afield with Stephen Terry who is the chef patron for The Hardwick in Abergavenny will be preparing; Bread Crumbed Corned Beef Hash, Egg Yolk, Pickle, Skinny Fries, Lea & Perrins mayo, Tomato & balsamic arancino, Mozzarella, Rocket Pesto with a vegan option of Tomato, Tofu & Balsamic Arancino, Rocket Pesto and a Soft Taco, with Deep Fried Pork Belly, Ham Hock and Black Pudding, Pickled Red Cabbage and Chipotle Mole.

Lastly, Steve Smith, chef at Freemasons at Wiswell, another highly acclaimed pub, will be cooking Hot Dog of Proctor’s Kick Ass Cheddar, Truffle, Gherkin and Crispy Onions, Poached River Lune Salmon, Elderflower Butter, Jersey Royal, Fennel and Samphire Salad, Homemade Crumpet and Yakatori Goosnargh Chicken Kebab, French Style Peas, Fresh Mint.

Tom Kerridge said, “Knutsford gave us such a warm welcome last year and we cannot wait to return to Cheshire this year and bring the same brilliant standard of food, class chefs, ace music and awesome vibe as last year.  The dishes being showcased this year are as rich in variety as the chefs making them. With various inventive vegetarian dishes available, as well as a diverse meat selection dishes being freshly prepared in front of a live audience.”
