Man charged following assault incident in Macclesfield

A man from Macclesfield has been charged following an assault incident in the town.

Thomas Cannon, of Warwick Close, appeared at Crewe Magistrates’ Court today, Monday 29 April, to answer charges of assault by beating and causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

The 34-year-old was remanded in custody to appear at Chester Crown Court on Friday 24 May.

The charges relate to an incident at a flat in Ivy Road, Macclesfield.

The incident, which occurred at around 10.45pm on Friday 26 April, left a 20-year-old man from Macclesfield with facial injuries that required hospital treatment.

Officers arrested Cannon in connection with the incident shortly after 1am on Saturday 27 April.
