Weather warnings in place again for Cheshire
A yellow weather warning has been issued by the Met Office from between 2pm and 10pm today (August 14.)
The warning covers Cheshire East and Cheshire West and Chester, with the Met Office warning that traffic may be disrupted as a result.
The Met Office weather warning said: ‘Although many places will miss them, heavy showers and thunderstorms may affect parts of the area through Wednesday afternoon, before slowly dying out from the west during the evening. A few spots could see as much as 25 mm in an hour, and perhaps 40 mm in 2 or 3 hours.’
It has been warned that flooding and lightning strikes may cause travel disruption and spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions.
It also says there is a ‘slight chance’ of power cuts in the area.
The forecast for the rest of the week says predicts a cloudy start with the odd shower before gradually turning drier and brighter into the afternoon.
Friday and Saturday will see a spell of wet and windy weather followed by sunny spells and showers.
It will be windy over the weekend, particularly on Sunday.
