Christmas Markets in Cologne
This is a subject close to Captain Cullen’s heart, as his 13 year-old son Matthew was diagnosed with Leukaemia after collapsing on a holiday to Florida last year. Matthew is now years into a 3-year treatment programme, and is undertaking chemotherapy at Alder Hey Children’s hospital in Liverpool, for which the money is being raised.
Departing from Manchester at 7.20am, you’ll be flown to Cologne by Captain Cullen and Captain Buster Crabb who will be commentating throughout the flight. In-flight meals are included and you’ll have the chance to win a whole host of prizes during a raffle, including a Champagne hamper donated by Thomson Airways, a TV and much more.
Upon arrival at 9.45am, you’ll have around 10 hours to explore the beautiful city of Cologne, one of the oldest cities in Germany. As well as picking up some fantastic and unique Christmas gifts, you’ll have plenty of time to sightsee.
Marvel at the world famous Cathedral – and if you are feeling energetic, climb the 509 stairs to the top of the south tower! Or why not take a relaxing river boat ride along the Rhine.
If the markets haven’t satisfied your shopping urges then why not head to the bohemian Agnesviertel district, where you can find independent designers, bookshops, bars, and art galleries. Or give in to your sweet tooth with a visit to the Schokoladenmuseum – the chocolate museum!
And if all that sightseeing has given you an appetite, enjoy traditional, hearty fare in a traditional-style Kölsch restaurant, and of course, you can’t leave without trying a nice cold local beer.
If you would like to join the flight for a very special day at the Christmas Markets in Cologne on Saturday, December 5th, all for a very good cause, then tickets are £175 per person.
