Choral Christmas for CAFT
Knutsford Star Choir prepares for a musical Christmas whilst supporting a local charity
They say Christmas starts earlier every year, and Knutsford Leisure Centre users could be forgiven for thinking that is true every Thursday night. The sound of carols coming from the music room is Knutsford Star Choir busy rehearsing for a charity fundraising concert in December. Joining forces with Egerton Primary School choir the concert will be a fun and entertaining evening of Christmas music and carols.
The chosen charity is the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT), which is close to the heart of Star Choir musical director, Nick Montague as he is also the charity’s Chairman. As it is Christmas, the choir wanted to choose a local children’s charity and CAFT are a perfect match, running Christmas parties for several weeks upto the big day for terminally ill, chronically sick, disabled and disadvantaged children, as well as providing holidays to hundreds of children throughout the year.
Star Choir members come from all walks of life and many have never sung in public before.
“The choir has given me a confidence I never knew I had” said Katie. “It will be fantastic if we can fill the church for the concert.”
The concert is being held in Knutsford Methodist Church on Saturday 11th December, starting at 7:30pm. Tickets at £5 can be purchased by contacting Jane on 07761 304 885, Martine on 07855 079 990 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
