The Cheshire East Welcome Course
Local businesses are being given the opportunity to take part in a free Cheshire East Welcome Course at Knutsford Civic Centre on 7 December.
The course is a great opportunity for Knutsford businesses to develop an awareness of the visitor offer in Cheshire East, as well as equipping employees with the necessary skills to enhance the visitor experience.
The visitor economy is vitally important to Cheshire East, with over 16.7m visitors visiting the region in 2008 and spending over £653m. Domestic tourism increased by over 14% in 2009, a clear indication that attracting and retaining visitors is more important than ever for the local economy
The course offers practical advice on dealing with visitor queries, developing product knowledge, understanding the economic impact of tourism and developing an awareness and pride in Cheshire East as a vibrant tourist destination.
The Cheshire East Welcome Course is a free, half day session that is being funded by Cheshire East Council as part of the ongoing recession recovery work. The project is being delivered in conjunction with the regional tourist board, Visit Chester and Cheshire
