An Evening of Big Brass Music at Christmas

By on December 8, 2010

The Roberts Bakery Band conducted by Colin Cranson are returning to Tatton Park this Saturday, 11th December with their acclaimed Christmas concert.

The concert features traditional brass band repertoire such as the march Death or Glory, made famous in the motion picture Brassed Off, and the 1977 hit single for the Brighouse & Rastrick Band, The Floral Dance. There will be 6 of the most popular Christmas carols including Hark the Herald Angels Sing, Silent Night and O Come All Ye Faithful.

The band will also be showcasing three of its fine soloists – Michael Pollitt on Cornet ( You Raise Me Up ), Sara Oberland on Flugel Horn (Rodrigo’s Concerto de Aranjuez) and special guest Mark Glover on Euphonium ( The Sunshine of your Smile ).

All of this “big brass music” in the historic setting of the Tenants’ Hall at Tatton Park. The mansion opens at 7:00pm, when audience members have the opportunity to walk around the beautiful decorated state rooms and enjoy a warming winter drink before the Roberts Bakery Band take to the stage at 8:00pm.

Tickets are still available at £15.00 each but pre-booking is essential on the Tatton Park booking line, 01625-374400.
