High Legh Park Golf Club get in the swing of fundraising!

By on March 5, 2012

Golfers from High Legh Park have clubbed together to raise an impressive £11,500 for local children’s charity, The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust.

Both Mr Captain John Caslin and Lady Captain Carol Robinson, selected the children’s charity to benefit from their year as heads of High Legh Park Golf Club, raising an impressive sum in 2011/12.

Throughout the year they worked tirelessly to fundraise and support the local charity, staging several amazing fundraising events at the club.  These included two fantastic fashion shows, a Ladies Night and the annual Captains Charity Day which raised a massive £4,500!  An Auction of Promises also raised £4,500 in November which saw 32 fantastic lots going under the hammer, ranging from Christmas cakes to Villas in Portugal.

All funds raised by the golfers will benefit terminally ill disabled and disadvantaged children from all over the North West.  The charity will use the donation to provide holidays, respite breaks and daytrips to children in desperate need of a break at their beautiful 10 acre Cheshire site.

Julie Gray, Community Fundraiser at CAFT comments:  “We are so grateful to both the Captain and Lady Captain and everyone at High Legh Park Golf Club for their amazing support.  They have worked so hard to raise such a fantastic amount of money which will change the lives of so many children, we really can’t thank everyone enough.”

Gavin Beddow, Director of Golf at High Legh Park comments: “High Legh Park is proud to be involved with helping Carol and John raise such a fantastic amount of money for an amazing Charity.  They have been very proactive in organising fund raising functions and events at High Legh, with unwavering energy and commitment. This has resulted in great participation, attendance and enjoyment in all the events held.

Both Carol & John have said that they were overwhelmed by the support that they had been given during their year as Captains and would like to thank everyone for their kind donations for this worthwhile local children’s charity.”
