The Star Choir comes to Knutsford!

By on November 16, 2009

Led by Pickmere based musical director Nick Montague, who has over 30 years experience in the music business, as a pianist, teacher and conductor, the aim is to build the choir to around 100 members, and perform big concerts in aid of local charities each of which will be nominated by the choir itself.

“I can guarantee that everyone will really enjoy being part of the Star Choir”, Nick Montague told us. “singing is a great thing to do, its good for the body, and when people join a choir they find a whole new world of friends and camaraderie.

And don’t worry if you’re nervous, have never done it before or think you can’t sing. Nick has words of encouragement. “most people think they can’t sing, but in fact they can and its much easier when you are part of a group, rather than singing solo. You don’t need to read music and there’s no “X Factor” like auditions. Just turn up and enjoy yourself.”

The choir will be performing all sorts of music, including Gospel, Musicals and Pop plus the occasional classical icon.

Knutsford Star Choir meets every Thursday evening from 7.15pm in the Music Room at Knutsford Leisure Centre. For more information and to call and book your place, see their website www.starchoirs.co.uk.
