What to expect at Bluedot festival: Jodrell Bank’s celebration of music, culture and science
Started in 2015, Bluedot has quickly grown to be one of the most exciting and interesting festivals in the UK. The fact that it takes place at the picturesque and hugely important site of Jodrell Bank is one major reason for that – as the location alone is said to be the reason why many revellers decide to make the journey. That aside, the programme of the festival alone is one of the most intriguing you’re likely to find, featuring a diverse range of different artists and musicians performing over the 3 days.
Just under 2 weeks until we explore the wonders of the cosmos at #BD17.

This year’s headliners include Leeds-based art-poppers Alt-J, electronic legends Orbital, and influential alternative rock heroes The Pixies. Elsewhere on the bill, Goldfrapp, Warpaint and Hawkwind are sure to please the crowd – while a live-scoring of Moomins and The Comet should also be a unique experience. Away from music, comedian Richard Herring will be bringing the laughs, while talks about the Voyager spacecraft by Tim O’Brien are sure to pique the interest of many, and a diverse programme of Doctor Who and Captain Scarlet features are sure to please most who attend.
