The enduring charm of self-patterning sock yarns.
No matter how many times I’ve used it in the past, I still marvel at the colour changes and the interesting effects that you get with the simplest of patterns.
The new Regia Design Line range of sock yarns called Jazz colours, designed by well know knitwear designer Erika Knight is no exception.
The pattern booklet that accompanies the yarn contains three very easy but great result patterns, a hat, a pair of socks and a pair of mittens. I have finished the hat and I’m up to the thumb on the first mitten. I love the pentagon shape between the swirls of decreases that make the crown of this hat.
I also want to share pictures of the amazingly beautiful sock yarn blanket made by one of our knit group members. Margaret also used Regia design line 4ply but this is the Kaffe Fassett range of colours. She used three different colourways to create this masterpiece, I think you’ll agree it’s a work of art.
If you want to see the hat and finished mittens, call into to the shop, you’ll find us on Minshull St, Knutsford. Or, why not pay a visit to our new blog and say hello – http://fibreandclay.wordpress.com. Whatever you have on your needles this month, happy knitting.
