U12’s spirits far from dampened!
Knutsford U12‘s met Bowdon in damp, cold conditions on Sunday.
Bowdon, who have a very strong squad arrived with 26 players whilst Knutsford only had a squad of 14. This left them with only 1 player to use as a substitute. The opening exchanges were fierce with no side giving any quarter. Any early converted try from Bowdon was answered almost immediately by Knutsford. Attacking and defence by both teams was of the highest order and the first half ended with Knutsford in the lead by 21:14.
The second half was equally as competitive despite Bowdon being able to freshen up their team with new players at regular intervals. A further try apiece left the scores level at 28:28 with only a few minutes remaining. Bowdon then went over for the final try of the. Knutsford exerted immense pressure on the Bowdon try line but a score was not forthcoming. The final score was 28:35.
It was an excellent team effort from Knutsford that resulted in the try corers, Chris Twomey, George Bryson-sharples and Theo Hulbert (2) being able to touch down. The coversions were kicked by Cormac Grieves.
